The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Tuesday that Boeing (NYSE:BA) breached a legal settlement related to its employees’ involvement in two fatal plane crashes, potentially putting the company at risk of criminal charges.
Earlier in January 2021, Boeing (BA) admitted that two employees provided misleading information to federal authorities regarding the 737 Max jet, leading to the company being placed on corporate probation to avoid prosecution.
This revelation comes after a recent incident where a new Boeing (BA) 737 Max experienced a door panel detachment shortly after takeoff, necessitating an emergency landing, with the aircraft being the same model implicated in the prior accidents.
Additionally, in April, Boeing (BA) disclosed to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration suspicions that employees may have falsified records pertaining to the 787 Dreamliner jets.
