The Bigger Picture: SpaceX wrapped up 2023 with a staggering 96 launches, marking a remarkable 57% year-on-year surge. This followed 26 launches in 2020, 31 in 2021, and an impressive 61 launches in 2022. The company is now eyeing a monumental 144 launches this year, averaging a lofty 12 launches per month.
In parallel, the aerospace titan’s satellite internet segment, Starlink, has garnered over 2.3 million customers spanning 70 countries. According to astronomer Jonathan McDowell’s database, SpaceX has propelled over 5,700 Starlink satellites into the low-Earth orbit, underpinning global connectivity.
The event holds particular significance against the backdrop of SpaceX’s storied legacy, underlining its commitment to pioneering technological frontiers.
