Elon Musk’s Neuralink achieved a major milestone this week with its successful human implant procedure, prompting Jim Cramer to commend Musk’s visionary capabilities. During a recent CNBC segment, Cramer referred to Musk as having the ability to accomplish the seemingly unattainable.
Neuralink’s Breakthrough: Elon Musk took to Twitter to announce that Neuralink had accomplished the first-ever human implant of its brain technology device, revealing that the patient was “recovering well.” Musk also mentioned encouraging initial results related to neuron spike detection.
Neuralink had received FDA approval in May 2023 to initiate its inaugural in-human clinical study. The company’s pioneering product, “Telepathy,” is designed to aid paralysis patients in controlling a wide range of devices through thought alone.
In a subsequent post, Musk elaborated, drawing a poignant analogy stating, “Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a speed typist or auctioneer. That is the goal.”
Impressive Recognition: Cramer, in a segment of “Squawk On The Street,” hailed the feat as “remarkable,” emphasizing the extensive technical lead attained by Neuralink. He acknowledged his previous criticisms of Tesla Inc TSLA stock but took a moment to appreciate Musk’s Neuralink breakthrough.
Cramer recounted interactions with the American Brain Foundation, where he had learned that such technology was considered distant and potentially hazardous. He expressed awe at Musk’s ability to surmount these perceived obstacles, highlighting the transformative potential for individuals who had previously faced insurmountable limitations.
Referring to Musk’s achievement, Cramer remarked, “There are people who right now, if he can scale this, their lives are going to change so dramatically that I think we’re going to hail him as … one of the greatest minds ever. This is impossible.”
